We continue with Santa Bernardo on the shipyard renovating all varnish around the hull, having the safety inspections and new antifouling.

The old bridge is closed. Now i have to drive 11 kilometres instead of 1kilometre. 15minutes drive instead of 2 min. But now, even in the winter it takes me 40 minutes, because of the traffic jam. This situation will be very complicated in future.

We launch again in the beginning of December.

Hello readers, the sun is still shining and the temperatures are still moderate but this season has eventually come to an end.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported us with their visit, this year and all the ones before. At the beginning of the next week the “Santa Bernarda” ist going to the wharf, for the annual maintenance works and afterwards the inspection. We are going to clean and repaint the hull, the propeller and the rudder, renew the saccrificial anodes, and later, when again in the water, do the work on top.

The City of Portimão is going to close the old bridge for renovation next week, for 450 days (!!!) without offering an alternative. This will prejudicate us a lot once the wharf is just across the river. Instead of taking us 3 minutes to take the material there, it will now take at least 20 minutes each way.
This will aswell affect our guests next year, specially the ones coming from Ferragudo, Carvoeiro and Lagoa, that will have to divert via the new bridge to reach Portimão.

Small local shops will have nothing left to laugh about, because after cutting down on free parking places in the city centre, the access is even more difficult than it has been since the dramatic and non-sense road layout changes downtown.
